Privacy policy
How information supports the video library, session notes, and your experience here.
Effective October 2, 2026
About this policy
This policy applies to the Ash Trades website and its channel-owner caption connection, also called Ash Trades Website. Ash Trades provides trading education, a public YouTube video library, and transcript-based session notes. It explains the information accessed, used, stored, and shared by these features.
Information we use
- Public YouTube information: video and channel identifiers, titles, descriptions, publication dates, thumbnails, video format, and livestream status are used to organize and display the library.
- Authorized captions: when the channel owner connects Google, the website can retrieve available caption tracks and their transcript text. An authorized administrator can also supply transcripts manually.
- Website content: transcripts, summary drafts, approved notes, key takeaways, topic tags, chapters, publication decisions, and synchronization status are stored in the website’s database.
- Administration and contact: administrator sign-in information, including account identifier and email, is used to restrict editing access. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send.
- Technical information: website hosting and embedded services may process IP addresses, browser information, requests, and error information to deliver their services and maintain security.
Browsing the library does not require connecting your Google or YouTube account. The caption connection is for the channel owner’s authorized use.
The YouTube connection
This website uses YouTube API Services. Public video information helps keep the archive organized. With the channel owner’s authorization, Google OAuth enables caption retrieval for that channel’s videos. OAuth credentials and the refresh token are configured on the server; they are not included in public video responses.
The caption connection requests the youtube.force-ssl permission. Google describes this permission broadly, including managing YouTube content. The website’s caption feature uses it to list and download available captions; its current implementation does not upload, edit, or delete YouTube videos, comments, or captions.
Information received from Google APIs is used for the library, caption import, and the session-note features described here. It is not sold or used by this website for personalized advertising. Our use of that information is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its applicable Limited Use requirements.
Review the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service. You can revoke the connection through Google’s account permissions page.
Transcripts and AI summaries
When the owner enables summary generation, a video’s title and transcript text are sent to the OpenAI API to create summary drafts, takeaways, topic tags, and chapters. This processing supports livestream session notes, video overviews, key takeaways, and timestamped chapters. Shorts are presented in a video feed without a notes section. It does not send the Google refresh token to OpenAI.
Authorized administrators can read and edit transcripts and drafts. Generated livestream notes, takeaways, chapters, topic tags, and transcript text become available to visitors automatically after successful generation. Videos and Shorts require owner approval before those fields become public. AI-generated notes may contain errors; administrators can correct them or hide a video. Weekly recaps still require owner review and approval.
OpenAI processes submitted data under its applicable API terms and policies. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy. Connecting Google alone does not enable AI generation; the owner must separately configure the summary service.
Service providers, embeds, and external links
The website runs through ChatGPT Sites and uses Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting and database storage. These providers process information needed to operate the website. Google/YouTube provides API data, thumbnail images, and embedded video playback. OpenAI receives title and transcript text when summary generation is enabled.
YouTube embeds and images make requests to Google services. Those services may receive technical information and use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Your browser and Google account settings control those services.
Premium membership, social media, community, and affiliate links lead to external providers, including Whop and Discord. Those providers handle their own accounts, payments, cookies, and privacy practices. Affiliate links may attribute a visit or purchase to Ash and may earn Ash a commission. Review the destination’s policy before providing information.
Storage and security
Video records, transcripts, drafts, and approved content are retained in the website’s database to support the archive and its editorial workflow. Administrative credentials are configured separately as server-side settings. Administrative editing requires an authorized account, and connections to Google and OpenAI use HTTPS.
Retention depends on the purpose of the information and applicable provider requirements. No fixed automatic deletion period is currently implemented for transcript records. Revoking a Google token stops future authorized access but does not itself erase previously stored website records; contact us to arrange their removal.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can revoke Google access at any time on Google’s account permissions page. To request deletion of stored captions, transcripts, related notes, or information you have provided, email the contact below with the affected channel or video URL and the information you want removed. Do not send passwords, client secrets, or tokens.
We will verify requests as needed to protect the channel owner’s information and arrange removal of applicable stored records, subject to any legal retention requirements. Google-authorized data must be handled according to YouTube’s applicable revocation and deletion requirements. Requests are handled by the site owner rather than an automatic self-service deletion tool.
You can also choose to view a video directly on YouTube, manage cookies through your browser, or avoid following external links. Changes to public website records do not remove the original video from YouTube or data held independently by external services.
Changes to this policy
Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. If the Google connection’s use of authorized data changes beyond what was disclosed, the owner must obtain any required renewed consent before that new use.
